New Chair Fund

New Chairs

As you hopefully know by now, the Board has selected a new chair for the main sanctuary to replace the existing metal folding chairs. Over the next couple of weeks, we will be reaching out to each family in our community, and asking them to contribute to the shul to help cover the cost of the new chairs.

Each chair will cost us approximately $180, and we are hoping to raise approximately $40,000 to cover the cost for all of the chairs.

Therefore, we are asking each family to contribute $360, to cover the cost of two chairs. We realize that for some families, this amount will be too much, and we will gladly accept whatever you can afford to contribute. We are equally hopeful, and strongly encourage, those families that are able to contribute more than $360, to do so.

We are not going to be placing any names on the donated chairs, but we will find a way to acknowledge all those families who contribute to the effort.

Please note, there are three differences between the chair in the picture, and the chair we will be purchasing: (a) the wood stain is likely to be different; (b) the color of the fabric will be different; and (c) our chairs will have a metal rack, where you can place siddurim, chumashim, etc.

The Board is also in the process of exploring potentially purchasing the house next door. If the Board approves (and the Congregation approves at a Special Meeting) the purchase of the house, we will be asking each member of our community to financially support that effort as well.

If you have any questions, or if you wish to contribute to the chair fund, please use this form, or email
