ARZEI DAROM ANNUAL DINNER

Honoring:

Zev and Sharon Darack

Our guests of honor, Zev and Sharon Darack, moved to Teaneck’s South of Cedar Lane area in 2004, and have been active and devoted members of Congregation Arzei Darom ever since. The consistency of their support and constancy of their leadership have been central to the incredible success of our shul and community.

Always quick to volunteer his time and talents, Zev quickly joined the communications committee, where he generously devoted his skills to revamping the weekly ennouncements and managing the Arzei Darom website.  Zev continued to provide leadership by serving on Arzei’s Board of Directors as member- at-large, Secretary, and First Vice President. Zev also stepped up to serve our community on the membership, constitution, facilities, and finance committees.

A member of Arzei’s British contingency, Sharon has also been incredibly generous with devoting her skills to Arzei Darom. She has tirelessly served our youth department for many years. Currently youth department co-chair, Sharon ensures that weekly Shabbat groups run smoothly and effectively. Working indefatigably for endless hours behind the scenes, Sharon coordinates with the youth committee to hire and supervise our youth directors, youth group leaders and high holiday staff. Always making sure our children participate in enjoyable and meaningful holiday activities in our shul, Sharon works with our children on many projects, including creating sukkah decorations, organizing the sukkah hop, arranging Chanukah activities and youth onegs and facilitating our Purim carnival. One of Sharon's personal favorites is our weekly Parent-Child Learning series during the Fall and Winter months. Sharon particularly values the palpable, infectious energy that occurs  between parents learning with their children as a community in a fun, educational atmosphere. Sharon is enormously proud of Arzei’s recent hosting of the NCSY Jolt reunion, when we celebrated Simchat Torah with 40 young people and advisors.   Outside of Arzei Darom, Zev has been consistently devoted to Tomchei Shabbos, supporting Salute to Israel parade communications, leading pack 613 cub scouts, and serving on the Suez Customer Advisory Board.  Like Zev, Sharon has generously contributed her talents, including to educational programs and activities on addiction and mental health, and to Israel Free Spirit Birthright.

Sharon and Zev are the proud parents of Adam and Jacob. Congregation Arzei Darom is truly grateful for the Darack’s enthusiastic contribution of time and talent to supporting the growth of our shul and community. We are looking forward to sharing with them in the continued growth and success of Arzei Darom .
