Congregation Arzei Darom

Gala Dinner

Honoring:

Sandra and Donny Knoll

Congregation Arzei Darom is excited to honor Donny and Sandra Knoll at our inaugural dinner in our newly expanded Beit Knesset. Since joining the Arzei community in 2015, the Knolls quickly became deeply valued members of our synagogue and the greater Teaneck and Jewish community, generously giving their talents and contributing countless hours of their time.

Donny served as the synagogue treasurer and continues to plays a pivotal role in the financial health and constancy of our congregation. He also founded additional minyanim, expanding our Tefillah opportunities and fostering a sense of inclusivity. Donny frequently leads Torah reading, sharing his knowledge and dedication with the community. He is an integral part of the shul's security team, ensuring the safety and well-being of all who attend. Additionally, Donny is an active member of the building committee, overseeing on a daily basis the expansion of our Shul and helping to guide our physical growth.

Always ready to jump in and help wherever needed, Donny sprang into action after the October 7, 2023 attacks in Israel.  He is a founder and key member of Bergen County Lev Echad; the largest provider of duffel bags of supplies to Israel.  Likewise, Donny is a highly active member of Bergen Hatzalah.

Sandra serves as the co-chair of the Arzei Darom Youth Department, where her innovative programs have transformed the way our children engage with the shul. Through her efforts, she has helped to make the synagogue a place that kids eagerly look forward to, ensuring they feel both welcomed and inspired Additionally, Sandra shares her talents with the students at The Moriah School, where she educates the next generation as a middle school science teacher.

Throughout our shul construction process, it can’t be said enough that the Knolls graciously opened their home and their lawn to host our synagogue, demonstrating their warmth and generosity. Their unwavering commitment and service to our community continue to make a lasting impact. We are deeply grateful for their leadership and dedication.
